The nadian Association of Basketball Officials (BO) has Successfully Merged into the nadian Basketball Officials Commission (CBOC).

This merger will allow for great leadership and empowerment for officials!

FREE SAFE SPORT TRAINING –?Keeping athletes safe from maltreatment

The Coaching Association of nada is excited to announce the availability of its new?Safe Sport Training module!

Creating safe sport environments is everyone’s responsibility. This free, 90-minute?e-Learning module gives coaches the tools to recognize, address, and prevent maltreatment in sport. The module aligns with the principles of the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport and meets Sport nada requirements for Safe Sport edution.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

NOTICE OF BYLAW CHANGES

Basketball NWT will be holding its Annual General Meeting on November 1, 2019, commencing at 7:00pm.? The meeting will be held in the SportNorth first floor boardroom.

At this meeting, Basketball NWT will be proposing that a motion be made to make the following changes to Basketball NWT Bylaws:

Amending and renumbering clause 7 of the Bylaws so that it reads:

Notice of any general meeting shall

  • set out the time and place of the meeting and indite the business to be transacted;
  • be given at least fourteen days prior to the date set for the meeting. Notice shall be given by posting the Notice on the Basketball NWT website, and also by giving public notice.

Amending Clauses 19(1) and 19(2) of the Bylaws to replace “Director of Finance” with “Treasurer”

Amending Clause 21 of the Bylaws to read:

The fisl year of Basketball NWT commences April 1 in one year and ends on March 31 in the following year.

(Note.? The next fisl year for Basketball NWT will be from September 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020, to accommodate the change in fisl year.)

Renumbering Clause 26 of the Bylaws to read:

These Bylaws may be amended or replaced by

  • a resolution of a majority of voting members present and voting at an annual general meeting; or
  • an extraordinary resolution made at a special general meeting

Provided that a notice of the proposed amendment or replacement has been included in the notice of the general meeting 14 days in advance of the meeting.
